The RAP method have been developed as a LifeHack by researcher, Maynas Eric, to accelerate the process of development towards achieving goals in both areas of Business and Life. RAP is an acronym for Research, Action and Presentation.
I would think that in life, there are certain skills which can give people an advantage to edge over those who are in similar fields. Most of us have witness the rise of certain people within a corporation or in a community, sometimes we wonder what is it that they possess that enables them to be acknowledged and rise through the ranks while others who are just as capable in their work have been passed. Their traits are obvious yet not easy to comprehend into words or thoughts, they just seem to have that special something which ordinary beings do not have. But success leaves clues and here are the results of the research being systemized into a method call RAP (Research, Action and Presentation)
RAP is based upon a set of principles involving oral and written communication, teamwork, technical competence and other important human skills such as getting along with people. In any field, these are the skills you will need to succeed in both business and life, choosing to learn, practice and excel in them have the potential to not only bring you the self confidence that is needed to move ahead in your personal dreams but also to bring on prosperity, happiness and luck in the form of serendipity.
Below is a preview of the RAP method in the form of questions:
R for Research:
- Where do you want to go?
- Why do you want to go there?
- How far are you willing to go?
- What price are you willing to pay?
- What are the ways to get there?
- How are you going to get there?
- Why did you choose that method?
- Is it really what you are about?
- Will you be proud of what you will be doing?
- If what you do will be on tomorrow’s headlines for everyone, including your friends and family to see, will you still do it?
A for Action
- What are you doing that is a waste of time?
- What are you doing that is productive?
- What are you doing that is super productive?
Presentation
- Are you able to present your ideas with ease and self confidence?
- Are you able to do so because that is what you believe in?
- Are you able to speak with ease and confidence in both business and social situations?

This is awesome. I write things down all the time, because if I don’t loose focus very easily. Thanks for sharing this, I’m going to use it. I might even slightly modify it and use it on my blog for a new post…with credits to you of course.
Something really amazing is when you ask yourself questions your mind comes up with answers whether you were looking for them or not. It’s pretty surprising how effective such a simple thing as asking a question can be.
Cheers
Clinton
I’ve not heard of this before, but the idea makes a lot of sense. You’re right that there are things we can do to create an edge. So much of this is simply embracing hard work and not accepting short cuts or short changing ourselves. we get what we earn, and we get to keep what we’re willing to fight for.

Thanks Clinton and Christian for your input :)
