Fast cars? Nice Houses? Long vacations? Not really. The true value of becoming a Millionaire is not because of the million dollars, but because of the person you have to become to be able to attain the status.

I would imagine that it is the dream of many to become rich, as rich as a millionaire and there are many different reasons as to why a person would want to become rich.

For a parent, it might be the ability to give their children not just what they need but what they want so that they can be among the privilege to grow up in a good family that always have the means to provide for them. For a young adult, it might be for social status so that they can better enjoy life and live it to the full, tasting the higher ends of toys such as fast cars and wonderful vacations. For younger ones, it might just be to be able to get what they want, the latest mobile phone and gadgets. For some, having wealth could simply mean to them being able to better help other people. What would you do with a million dollars?

Getting rich is a reachable goal, just like becoming a pilot, a doctor, a chef or just someone who is really good at what they do and not all of them will become rich in their profession, this is because becoming rich enough to become a millionaire is a whole different game. A person might want to become a doctor because he or she find it meaningful to help people recover from their sickness, a person may want to become a chef because he feels great when people praise his cooking, a person might want become a pilot because he likes flying. However, there are also people who go into a profession because of the possibility of a higher salary which indirectly could mean a better quality of life for themselves and their families. But what is so different about becoming a millionaire or even a multi-millionaire?

Yes, some of them may want to become rich because of pure greed and the toys wealth might bring to them but there are also others who have been enlightened about what it means to become a millionaire. How can ordinary salary-men and women attain millionaire status when the amount of their salaries just does not allow it. For example, if a person earns $50,000 annually, it would take 20 years of saving for him to achieve millionaire status, that is provided he does not spend a cent during these 20 years! An average saver could save $5,000 to $15,000 annually.

Why the average salary person is unlikely to become a millionaire

If a person saves $10,000 out of the $50,000 he earns annually, it would take him 100 years to become a millionaire! This is why the average person has a very low chance of becoming a millionaire. The truth is, becoming a self made millionaire takes not only financial skills but much more.

There are many skills and knowledge that are needed for a person to become rich enough to become a millionaire, but behind every ambition are reasons, reasons that can motivate a person to become more than average, to desire enough to become the best that he can be!

One needs a reason that is strong enough to prompt him into action, to continue in his quest of becoming a millionaire and often, the reason of owning fast cars and going for wonderful vacations are not strong enough factors to prompt a person to get what he desires. The reason of providing enough to make their families happy isn’t powerful enough too, I imagine that many will agree that having more excess money does not equate or promise a better family life or more happiness because of a great abundance of material possessions for themselves. Enlightened Millionaires think and look further than that, they know that the true value of becoming a millionaire if because of the person that they come in the process. These are some of the reasons why we chose to become millionaires:

Why become a Millionaire?

Set the goal to become a millionaire for what it would take and make of you to achieve it.

Do it for the skills you have to learn, the information you have to turn into knowledge and the person you have to become.

Do it for the ability of discovering how to keep your emotions and ego in check.

Do it because you have to learn to be benevolent, generous and kind yet stay strong and focused.

Do it because you will have to be proficient and knowledgeable in how the world really works, by understanding the economy, business, society, politics, government, taxes, laws.

Do it because you have to be an accomplished person to be able to reach the status of a millionaire.

Do you see any of the reasons of why you wanted to become a millionaire in the above mentioned reasons? If yes, my respect goes to you and I am glad to have found you because we share the same insights.

However, you have to beware of what you become in pursuit of what you want, never sell yourself out, never betray your values and principles because of your goals. In further articles, we will be talking about the dangers of going astray while pursing the goal of becoming a millionaire.
