Eric, the fact that you give such great information so freely, and your especially gracious heart, keep me an avid fan of your postings! Thank you for befriending me, and helping me "think globally", so that I may share with others, too!
Always interesting and educational (and very often, just plain fun!), YOU are my "window on the world"...and I thank you.

Hi Eric,
It has been such a joy knowing you through Twitter.
I started using twitter in September 2008 when I attended a e-Learning conference. At first, I did not think much of it but being me, trying something new is always exciting. So I went on and I discovered that I could use it to promote my class blog.
I teach in a school where children are mostly from the lower socio-economic backgrounds and their personal voices are never heard by anybody. I tell my students that if they can write a few sentences in their story writing time, I will stick their stories online. This actually works. Everyone is keen to have his/her story published. And now, I do it quite regularly and those kids are so proud because they think they are going to be famous.
Thank you again for being a friend.
Jenny.

Jenny’s last blog post..Twitter in the classroom! Could it be a future trend ?

Hey I kind of over looked the fact that you had so many followers. But hey this is a great article. Lots of different areas covered that made a lot of sense. The first part about how you use Facebook or Twitter. I agree. We all have 24 hrs in a day, it's what we do to add value and effectiveness to our time. I mainly use Twitter and my own social networking site, PutFeed now days. I've gotten away from Facebook. But things like blogging and Twitter are my favorite networking tools, mainly because I don't need to spread myself across 10 different networks. Just a few.

As for giving deals or doing something for free, I'm completely agree. I think doing something for "free" isn't actually doing something for nothing. If you spend time doing someone a favor there's often a return in the relationship aspect. What I don't like is when a friend or family member expects something for nothing, just because you know them.
