When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamed of changing the world.
As I grew older and wiser, I discovered the world would not change, so I shortened my sights somewhat and decided to change only my country. But it, too, seemed immovable.
As I grew into my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I settled for changing only my family, those closest to me, but alas, they would have none of it.
And now, as I lie on my deathbed, I suddenly realize: If I had only changed myself first, then by example I would have changed my family.
From their inspiration and encouragement, I would then have been able to better my country, and who knows, I may have even changed the world.

The journey you were meant to take naturally arises from the stillness after discovering knowing where you stand and what you stand for. Find your place in this World before trying to reform and better it. Having realized that there is something more in this World you were looking for, there is no more time to lose once you have found it.

Absolutely true, nice blog. We can only change ourselves- by changing ourselves first, we can change our circumstances.
Yes, I agree…
By changing ourselves we DO change the world.
We change our outlook which then allows us to perceive the world as changed from who we were before, to who we became.
And, as you point out, after the change takes place, others view the change in us and take inspiration from us, hence changing their perception of what is possible perhaps influencing many generations to come.

Mahatma Ghandi put it succinctly thus: “Be the change you want to see in the world.”
If you don’t change, the world will change and you will be out of it.
