There are many ways that can condemn a person to become and stay poor for very long periods of time. These are the top six reasons that could “help” a person become trapped in the rat race.

1. They think they will always be poor and never thought that they too, could become rich.
2. They simply never decide to become rich, either though they think they just might make it.
3. Once they thought of improving their financial status and also about improving their own lives but lo and behold, they procrastinate and defend their decision to not do anything because there are so many reasons why NOT to do it. They are so used to not doing anything new and in the end decide to stay safely in what they are doing all their lives. Nothing.
4. The fool proof way to stay poor no matter how much you earn, spending everything that you earned. If you can’t save, the seeds of wealth are not in you.
5. What can be worse than spending everything you earned? Borrowing more to buy the things you can’t afford. Non-resistance to instant gratification.
6. What can be worse than spending everything and borrowing money to buy things you can’t afford? Signing on debts, paying high interest rates and “investing” (more like gambling) without skills and knowledge in high risk financial products with technically speaking, unlimited lost (e.g Forex).
7. The most common but innocent way that made many poor in the long run…planning only enough for the next few months, not for the long term…think retirement.
